B.O.S.S. - Bars of Steel Slam is a Poetry Competition where Spoken Word Poets will use WORDS & PERFORMANCE before a live audience and a panel of judges to compete for CASH PRIZES.

What is a Poetry Slam?

 

A Poetry Slam is a competitive event in which poets perform their own original work and are judged by members of the audience who are selected to be judges and are instructed to give numerical scores (on a zero to 10 scale also using decimal points to help avoid ties) based on the poets’ content and performance.

Our Ultimate Goal is to put together a Slam Team that will travel to Compete in National Poetry Slams across the country however we know that every Poet and every Poem is not intended for a Slam so we will also have an OPEN MIC LIST to sign up at the show.

Prizes

1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes will be awarded to the poets with the top three scores after round 3.
